Silver Tongue, White Devil

Photo
For class we had to write a poem based on Knight, Death and the Devil by Albrecht Durer. It’s not great, but I haven’t posted in a while so here it is:
The Knight, the Night Life and the Devil
“Girlsss, Girlsss, Girlsss” hissed the snakes upon the skeletal swindler upon the sorrowful stallion“No thanks, Bones. I’ve read the tomes, you just want my soul as medalion”He chose his course and spurred his horseAnd set off on his pathBut around the turn the devil spawned and spurned“Not so Fassst” He tapped the armor with a clink“Don’t you think to have a drink would pass the time more pleasant?”“Hold up Skeletor, I’ve been here before. If I liked tequilaI might feel ya but in the morn it makes me squirmLike the worm dropped in fresh excess”His horse continued west
Once again temptasion called his name“Dont be lame, we can play a card game”“I don’t gamble, but I bet I’m gonna get where I aim to get”“Don’t fret, it’s just a bit of 5 stud”“listen bud, I don’t want to play cards”“What about a nice cigar”“Get away from my fucking car!”
And off he went, traveling until his life was spentAnd when all was said and doneThe old man just wanted to have some funBut the Knight was caught up in Piety’s anxieties
It might seem a trifleBut only one lived their life full Zoom

The Knight, the Night Life and the Devil

“Girlsss, Girlsss, Girlsss” hissed the snakes upon the skeletal swindler upon the sorrowful stallion
“No thanks, Bones. I’ve read the tomes, you just want my soul as medalion”
He chose his course and spurred his horse
And set off on his path
But around the turn the devil spawned and spurned
“Not so Fassst” He tapped the armor with a clink
“Don’t you think to have a drink would pass the time more pleasant?”
“Hold up Skeletor, I’ve been here before. If I liked tequila
I might feel ya but in the morn it makes me squirm
Like the worm dropped in fresh excess”
His horse continued west

Once again temptasion called his name
“Dont be lame, we can play a card game”
“I don’t gamble, but I bet I’m gonna get where I aim to get”
“Don’t fret, it’s just a bit of 5 stud”
“listen bud, I don’t want to play cards”
“What about a nice cigar”
“Get away from my fucking car!”

And off he went, traveling until his life was spent
And when all was said and done
The old man just wanted to have some fun
But the Knight was caught up in Piety’s anxieties

It might seem a trifle
But only one lived their life full
